So Barzan Ibrahim was decapitated instead of hanged. I thought decapitation was a beloved part of the local tradition. Beheading goes back to the earliest years of Muhammad (Pigs barf on him.) They've been decapitating each other and our people since the "insurgency" (sic) began. Doing it with a noose may not be a traditional manner of beheading, but a quick snap of a rope seems preferable to slow sawing with a dull kitchen knife. And I observe that Barzan Ibrahim seems satisfied by his treatment; he has not been heard to complain.
