(2007-01-27) — Tens of thousands of protesters will rally today on the mall in Washington D.C. to call on President George Bush to bring U.S. troops home from Iraq, and to demand better celebrity spokesmen for their cause.

Celebrities slated to speak at the rally include Jane Fonda, Susan Sarandon, Danny Glover and the Rev. Jesse Jackson. Three of them have made careers out of pretending to be someone they’re not, while Ms. Fonda is best known as the daughter of actor Henry Fonda. ...

No wonder they haven’t been able to come up with a plan.  Their leader is a 12-year-old girl:

At the rally, 12-year-old Moriah Arnold stood on her toes to reach the microphone and tell the crowd: “Now we know our leaders either lied to us or hid the truth. Because of our actions, the rest of the world sees us as a bully and a liar.”

Also, a wealthy dowager reliving her girlish youth, undermining American troops in the field again. ...

Anti-war protesters vandalize Capitol building

The Hill reports that anti-war protesters in town this weekend for the big defeat rally decided to spray their dissent all over the steps of the U.S. Capitol building:

Approximately 300 protesters were allowed to take the steps and began to spray paint “anarchist symbols” and phrase such as “Our capitol building” and “you can’t stop us” around the area, thesource said.
