Murtha Wants To Close Gitmo

And he's willing to cut off funds to do it.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Rep. John Murtha said Tuesday that he planned to hold hearings on closing down the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and threatened to "cut off the money" to make it happen.

"This is an eyesore to the country," the veteran congressman, chairman of the House Appropriations Committee's defense subcommittee, said of the facility, where about 400 detainees from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are kept. ...

Perhaps he would prefer we start housing the detainees at Gitmo at a facility in his district then? I'm sure his constituents wouldn't mind at all. ...

Actually they could be at Colorado's Supermax..we already have John Walker Lind..and Gotti and others here...they go into the supermax and disappear....the only itty-bitty problem is they have to have been convicted...damn our American legal system
