*** *** Fold (but please don't spindle or mutilate) *** *** Fort Dix Hero: Am I A Racist? Dan Riehl
If anyone thinks there is any validity to claims that Muslims need special protections against so-called whistle blowers based upon the Fort Dix incident and revelations around a video tape that brought the group to the attention of the FBI - read this Post exclusive. It wasn't the first time the group of ten bearded men had been seen lingering outside the store. What's frightening is his hesitation and that someone in the teen's position might need protection by legislation against being sued. Eventually, the group - who'd been seen standing outside earlier that January 2006 week - selected two men to go inside while the rest waited in the parking lot, an employee who was outside smoking at the time recalled.
Once inside, the two men approached the television section of the electronics store where videos could be transferred to DVD and copies could be made.
They handed the teenage clerk a mini-cassette tape from a camcorder and asked for a $20 transfer to be made to DVD. As they waited, the two men calmly walked around the store looking at televisions, video games and DVDs.
What they didn't know was that they had sealed their ultimate fate. ...

Bruce Kesler has the facts behind VoteVet.org, an organ of the Democrat party, aligned with its most fringe elements. I am in favor of groups and individuals being able to say what they want, but VoteVets.org is a 501(c)(4) tax exempt group that is supposed to be non-partisan. Instead of targeting all politicians that voted against the Democrats' plan to cut and run, however, they have only targeted Republicans. He also points out how the group is able to collect unlimited amounts of money from anonymous donors. ...
*** Fortress America's gate is open Mark Steyn
Most terrorists seem like bumbling losers if they're caught before the act: That's certainly true of the Fort Dix jihadists who took their terrorist training DVD to the local audio store to be copied. It was also true of the Islamists arrested in Toronto last year for plotting to behead the prime minister, one of whose cell members had a bride who wanted him to sign a prenup committing him to jihad. The Heathrow plotters arrested while planning to blow up U.S.-bound airliners included a Muslim convert who'd started out as the son of a British Conservative Party official with a P. G. Wodehouse double-barreled name and a sister who was a Victoria's Secret model and ex-wife of tennis champ Yanick Noah.
But then Mohammed Atta and the 9/11 gang would have seemed pretty funny if you'd run into them in that lap-dance club they went to before the big day where the girls remembered them only as very small tippers. Most terrorists are jokes until the bomb goes off.
So, when we're fortunate enough to catch them in advance, it's worth pausing to consider what they tell us about the broader threat we face. According to genius New York Times headline writers, "Religion Guided Three Held In Fort Dix Plot." You don't say. Any religion in particular? ...
*** SCIRI denies split with Iran, Maliki agrees to bigger Sunni role in security Allahpundit
As Gilda Radner used to say, never mind. The media bureau of the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council, formerly SCIRI, issued a statement late Saturday correcting what it described as “dubious remarks attributed to senior SCIRI officials” and “inaccurate analysis” made by media outlets, referring to reports that the party would distance itself from neighboring Iran. The statement said that SIIC wished to stress the independence of its political decision and that its new platform is not directed “against” anyone…
SIIC’s statement had also made no mention that it would cease following the religious guidance of Iran’s Supreme Jurisprudent Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as its “source of emulation,” or replace it with that of Iraq’s top Sh’ite cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali Al-Sistani, as several media outlets had reported.
Here’s the original Reuters story, which quoted several unnamed party officials trumpeting the party’s reorientation towards Sistani. Hard to see how the analysis was inaccurate: ...
Meanwhile, (mostly) good news: Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki agreed to give Sunnis a bigger role in security operations in their areas, lawmakers said Sunday, in a deal that staves off a threatened Sunni walkout that could have toppled the Shiite leader’s embattled government.
The deal reached with Iraq’s Sunni vice president could help assuage long-standing Sunni complaints that Shiite-dominated security forces unfairly target Sunni areas but avoid cracking down on Shiite militias linked to influential politicians…
*** Al-Qaida Says It Has Missing U.S. Troops
BAGHDAD (AP) - Thousands of U.S. soldiers searched Sunday for three Americans who were missing after their patrol came under attack in an explosion that killed four of their comrades and an Iraqi army translator. Two bombings—one in northern Iraq and another at a market in Baghdad—killed at least 67 Iraqis.
The Islamic State in Iraq, an al-Qaida front group, said it had captured several soldiers in the attack, but offered no proof to back up its claim, posted on an Islamic Web site.
The search for the missing Americans began after insurgents attacked a patrol of seven U.S. soldiers and an Iraqi interpreter before dawn Saturday near Mahmoudiya.
The U.S. military said Saturday that five people were dead and three were missing.
On Sunday, U.S. spokesman Maj. Gen. William Caldwell confirmed that the Iraqi interpreter was among the dead—and that all the missing were Americans. He said about 4,000 U.S. troops were involved in the search. ...

*** Al-Qaeda planning militant Islamic state within Iraq Uzi Mahnaimi, Tel Aviv (H/T: Kim Priestap)
A RADICAL plan by Al-Qaeda to take over the Sunni heartland of Iraq and turn it into a militant Islamic state once American troops have withdrawn is causing alarm among US intelligence officials.
A power struggle has emerged between the self-styled Islamic State of Iraq, an organisation with ambitions to become a state which has been set up by Al-Qaeda, and more moderate Sunni groups. They are battling for the long-term control of central and western areas which they believe could break away from Kurdish and Shi’ite-dominated provinces once the coalition forces depart.
According to an analysis compiled by US intelligence agencies, the Islamic State has ambitions to create a terrorist enclave in the Iraqi provinces of Baghdad, Anbar, Diyala, Salah al-Din, Nineveh and parts of Babil.
“Al-Qaeda are on the way to establish their first stronghold in the Middle East,” warned an American official. “If they succeed, it will be a catastrophe and an imminent danger to Saudi Arabia and Jordan.” ...

The Feds are doing nothing about it. What's going on in Islamberg is much like what was happening in David Koresh's cult in Waco and in the militias the ATF has taken on in the past. So why aren't the Feds shutting down Islamberg? Situated within a dense forest at the foothills of the Catskill Mountains on the outskirts of Hancock, New York, Islamberg is not an ideal place for a summer vacation unless, of course, you are an exponent of the Jihad or a fan of Osama bin Laden.

A sentry post has been established at the base of the hill.
The sentry, at the time of this visit, is an African American dressed in Islamic garb - - a skull cap, a prayer shawl, and a loose fitting shalwat kameez. He instructs us to turn around and leave. "Our community is not open to visitors," he says.
It has a sentry post? ...

*** Officials: Taliban's Dadullah killed in Afghan clash
KABUL, Afghanistan (Reuters) -- The Taliban's top operational commander, Mullah Dadullah, has been killed in a clash in Afghanistan, security officials said on Sunday.
"Mullah Dadullah has been killed and his body is in Kandahar," said Saeed Ansari, spokesman for the intelligence department.
Another government spokesman said the one-legged Dadullah was killed in a clash with Afghan troops in the southern province of Helmand on Friday.
Apart from leading most Taliban attacks in the south, the notorious Dadullah was also believed to be behind a series of kidnappings of foreigners and Afghans. ...
