Please feel free to use this post for comments and trackbacks not related to other posts on the site. If you leave a trackback your post must include a link to this one and, as always, comments claiming the sun will rise in the west tomorrow, Chimpy McHitlerburton lied, etc. will be deleted without ever appearing on the site. ("Jorge McKennedy" is another matter.)

Make an old dog feel appreciated?

Purdue Science and engineering rocks. As a Boilermaker, one of the proudest traditions we have is to stand and recite, as a group numbering more than fifty thousands, at every home football game, 'I Am An American':

I am an American.
That's the way most of us put it, just matter of factly.
They are plain words, those four.
You could write them on your thumbnail,
or spread them clear across this bright autumn sky.
But remember too that that they are more than words.
They are a way of life.
So whenever you speak them, speak them firmly;
speak them proudly; speak them gratefully.
I AM AN AMERICAN.

Purdue has had this tradition since 1966. The Islamofacists don't understand what makes Americans American. That is why they will lose in the end. Go Purdue.
