Finally.

63 months since the last day I was healthy enough to work, 48 months since I first applied for Social Security Disability Insurance benefits, I finally got the rest of my SSDI money this morning. I'm still a long way from trophy-wife rich but at least now I can get some repairs and improvements made around here and have a car I don't have to share with two other people.

In other news, the $100 computer I bought at Rent One last January seems to have finally given up the ghost. When I have some time on my hands I may try to fix it but I think what probably makes more sense is to move the 500 GB drive I added to it last spring to the $150 computer we bought at Rent One this morning. Eventually I'll probably order something newer to replace that one too but with the other one out of action I wanted to do something quick; I sent my sister to Rent One to see what they had available to rent, she called to say they had a cash-and-carry that looked good, and I told her to buy it. Scotty, my sister's 22 year old, also has a computer in his room that needs repaired or replaced and I'm guessing he'll probably end up with the one we bought this morning after I buy a replacement for it.
