It seems multiculturalism may be on the wane even in a former bastion of the practice. A town in Quebec issued a declaration of "rules" for immigrants that instructed them to hit the road if they didn't want to assimilate into the mainstream culture of the province:

Don't stone women to death, burn them or circumcise them, immigrants wishing to live in the town of Herouxville in Quebec, Canada, have been told.

The rules come in a new town council declaration on culture that Muslims have branded shocking and insulting. ...

Canadian judge strikes down law
that connects terrorism to religion

Close call:

Canada’s new Anti-Terrorism Act failed its first judicial test today when an Ontario judge declared unconstitutional a key part of the definition of what constitutes a terrorist act.

Ontario Superior Court Judge Douglas Rutherford ruled today that the reference to terrorist motivations, which outlaws certain acts committed “for political, religious or ideological purpose, objective or cause,” is a clear violation of Charter freedoms of conscience and religion, and freedom of thought, opinion and expression.
