Comments I felt the same way. (and have Russ's poem up on my bit of fluff as well.) And it would be one thing to comment about the *disscussion* as to whether or not our armed forces are manned at the levels needed to meet the threats they are called on to deal with. Or if they have all the equipment needed. Heaven knows there have been tons of beers quaffed in "O" and "E" clubs over this very subject. BUT to have a political cartoonist not only cross the line of good taste (and they do that often, it's kinda their stock in trade) and land smack dab into morally offensive....THEN STILL PRINT THE PIECE OF REPREHENSABLE CRAP, speaks volumns about the lack of restraint on the cartoonists part, the inkstained cespool of an editor at the Washington Post. As much as Toles is at fault for coming up with the cartoon, the Post is (having some knowledge about newspapers/editors) the greater sinner for allowing this trash to see print. (btw Bill, I'm back *grin*.) Posted by: Guy S | Feb 5, 2006 12:56:08 PM It makes me think of the Samual Adams quote"Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say, 'What should be the reward of such sacrifices?' ... If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!"Posted by: Goat | Feb 5, 2006 2:50:37 PM Post a comment |
