Daily Illini publishes Muhammed Cartoons
For those growing up in my neck of the woods without silver spoons in their mouths, The University of Illinois is the university to aspire to attend. I myself spent two years there before dropping out to join the Air Force after the tumultuous spring of 1970. (By the time I was discharged four years later I'd been Texanized and decided I'd be more at home at UT.) I had the honor of supervising a couple of U of I grads during my time at Motorola and was left with no doubts about the quality of their education. You can imagine my pleasure, then, at learning that The Daily Illini, the campus paper, had published all 12 of the Muhammad cartoons.
The guy who wrote that is young and we probably wouldn't see eye to eye about a lot of things but I definitely have to respect him for having the spine to post the cartoons. *** 2006.02.14 Continued at Dhimmitude at The Daily Illini |
