Food fight!

My wish came true. President Bush has decided to nominate General Michael Hayden to head the CIA. The confirmation hearings are going to be a real hoot, giving lots of people who don't give a damn about national security an on-camera chance to bitch and moan about the al-Qaeda intercept program he helped create as head of NSA. There are also those who are concerned about having a military officer in charge of a so-called "civilian" agency, an agency which happens to be broken and need a firm guiding hand to get back on track. The way I see it is that we're at war and it's time to start acting like it. Sending a military man to the CIA to kick asses and take names is a step in the right direction.

Allahpundit isn't too thrilled with the situation. He agrees Hayden's a good man but he's not sure it's worth the fight.

Dafydd ab Hugh, on the other hand, sees things pretty much like I do.

» Why The CIA Needs Hayden from Flopping Aces
Gen. Hayden is the right choice at the right time to run the CIA that has run amok. It’s obvious that while Porter Goss did a good job in starting the purge of the CIA, he obviously wasn’t the right man for the job. Why do I say this? Well look at ... [Read More]

Considering Hayden is one of the top experts in intelligence in the country, it shouldn't be a surprise that he would be nominated for the position. Maybe they would feel better if he left the uniform and home and just wore a regular suit?!
