D-Day + 62 Years
My apologies for letting the date slip up on me and not having a proper post ready to go. It's a good thing better men than me were in charge that day. Fortunately Blackfive has a good D-Day roundup. I'll try to add some links to my post later. A special thanks to John Werntz and Bill Davis, both of whom had birds-eye views as things unfolded that day and both of whom spent time at one point or another at the Navigator's station of the C53D in the picture, which has been restored and is now part of an outdoor air museum in California.
*** Hot Air has some good links here. (HT: Michelle) |
